The cast, crew and band of EUSOG’s production of Jesus Christ Superstar, 2023
Termtime Musical
In 1988, EUSOG presented its first non-G&S show, a production of Oliver!, and is since a permanent part of the calendar. Shows were held in November, until 2022, when the main shows became the highlight of January.
Shows are proposed by teams made up of members, and voted on at a meeting.

Gilbert and Sullivan (G&S)
In 1961, The D’Oyly Carte Opera Company’s copyright on the G&S operettas expired, and our founder, Robert Heath, felt that such a society would be popular. Thus, EUSOG was born. The first show, The Mikado, opened in January 1962 in the Little Theatre in the Pleasance (now the Pleasance Theatre) with a cast of 57 and sold out every night.
